Sen. Eldridge, man of Action

by: Jeremy Marin

Thu Jun 18, 2009 at 09:39:24 AM EDT

(BMG is for lovers. - promoted by Bob)

Today's Globe online version makes an amusing, if accurate, error, referring to Senator Eldridge of Action rather than from the town of Acton.

The article, highlighting State House (in)activity on Bunker Hill Day includes this:

"I'm working today,'' said Senator James B. Eldridge, Democrat of Action, after giving directions to a wayward tourist looking for an exit. "My whole staff is here.''

Given his level of activity on a wide variety of issues and his excellent progressive stances this seems an appropriate slip.

I second that emotion (6.00 / 1)
I don't think there's senate district in the Commonwealth prouder of its senator than we are out here in Middlesex & Worcester.

Eschewing obfuscation since 1955.

I like him (6.00 / 1)
I know I am a lot more conservative than the Senator on a lot of issues but in several conversations with him I have found him to be very respectful and articulate. I also think he was on the right path in calling for an income tax hike rather than the sales tax. I think in time he will be proven correct.

You can't run a Cadillac on a Chevrolet budget, and GM can't either!

I second that (0.00 / 0)
I may not be a fan of his policies, but I he seems to be a pretty straight shooter.  I mean, the enemy you know, right?

Senator Eldridge is a leader (0.00 / 0)
The good old boys including the Senate President should take a few lessons from his leadership.  Senator Eldridge has vision, work ethic and a keen connection to understanding people.  Plus, he has the indomitable Kate Donaghue...

It was a loss to not have him and Sen. Augustus serving together.  Let's elect some players in the mold of Eldridge and help him build a team in the Senate and beyond.

So you're saying (0.00 / 0)
he's scituated east of Littleton?

Shoe bomber, underwear bomber -- why aren't we waging war on clothes?
