Don't let them fool you: they are crushed about losing NY-23

by: David

Thu Nov 05, 2009 at 10:39:04 AM EST

The folks over at Daily Kos have done a very nice job in assembling this video that shows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, just how desperate the teabaggers (which includes most of Fox News) were to win NY-23, and how loudly they would have been crowing if they had.  It's perhaps a bit longer than it needs to be, but it couldn't be any more obvious.

This was a huge loss for them, and a huge win for the Democrats.  They wanted this one way more than NJ or VA.

Word on the street is that Owens (D-NY23) will support health care (0.00 / 0)
which I wasn't sure was going to happen since Owens is known as a ConservaDem.

As a side note, Hoffman bragged that he'd be a Reagan Republican.  Methinks Reagan might be called a RINO by today's standards... Reagan signed off on amnesty for illegal immigrants, for example.

the GOPs strategy of riding the tea bag wave back to power (0.00 / 0)
will have to wait.  the video does a fantastic job of illustrating the overconfidence of the right wing Wurlitzer.

If Democrats continue to serve corporate masters and not the general population with new policies their losses are imminent.  Rahm and Obama's treasury guys are chasing corporate contributions at the expense of policy for the people in health care and financial market reforms.

Gotta agree with above (0.00 / 0)
The MSM really missed the real results of the election which is that two moderate Republicans-running away from Bush and in both cases borrowing themes from Obama and in Christie's case arguing he is closer to Obama than Corzine-won. That very same style of Republican was driven from her campaign by out of state fringe right wing lunatics who sponsored a candidate that gave up one of the safest Republican districts in the country. This district had not elected a non-Republican since the 1850s, and that candidate was a Whig, not a Democrat, so really no Democrats have ever won here since Jackson led our party. This should be a huge story. It clearly shows the GOP a roadmap to victory-and its the opposite of embracing Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin.

Perhaps we should be thankful the teabaggers are so delusional, they will keep doing this across the country and get liberals and moderates elected.
