The Gang of Three: Democrats Praise Healey?

by: Tom

Thu Sep 21, 2006 at 22:04:34 PM EDT

(Pathetic, and hilarious. Patrick can go for more conservative voters, but he doesn't have to go through these clowns to get them. Adam Reilly's got a lot more. - promoted by Charley on the MTA)

Check out this story running on NECN tonight "Healey signs sex crime extension into law"  http://www.boston.co...

How long before you see Baddour's, O'Flaherty's and Dan Conley's french kiss for Healey in a 30 sec. "Tough of Crime" spots?

It's clear that those in the Legislature want very much to maintain their hold on power.  They'd much rather have an ineffectual Republican Gov.

Patrick = Change.

Steven Baddour and Eugene O'Flaherty are to the right of Kerry Healey.

I once heard Baddour and Senator Bruce Tarr speak at a forum on education.  If I didn't know the difference, I would have thought that Tarr was the Democrat and Baddour was the Republican.

Brian McGrory [described O'Flaherty's legislative achievements in his column] http://www.boston.co...

Once in office, representing Chelsea and Charlestown, you master the four most important words needed to get ahead on Beacon Hill: Yes, sir, Mr. Speaker. You say these words morning, noon, and night. You say them as you hold Tom Finneran's coat, as you vote lockstep with him on the floor, as you compliment his consistently excellent selection of neckwear.

Baddour and O'Flaherty are cowards.  If they had any courage, they would go to city hall, enroll as Republicans, and let voters know their true allegiences.  Failing that courage, we need to find a way to remove them from our party line in the next primary.

 Only the cod is sacred.

Corner office first.  Then we go to work on the Lege.

Deval Patrick has a posse.

It's a plan! (0.00 / 0)
Was that my Rep, Patrick Natale, hangin' with those DINOs on the dais with Healey?  I'm gonna have to remind him tomorrow that we may not be elephants, but we will still have pretty good memories two short years from now.

Here they are (0.00 / 0)
In all their glory.  Why don't they like Deval?

Baddour? (0.00 / 0)
Baddour's afraid of people with dark skin.  He doesn't think that people with dark skin are electable in the Commonwealth.

Except for his buffonish chief aide, who also happens to have dark skin.

Baddour Called for unity before he praised Healey (0.00 / 0)
I remember a the cacuses Baddour telling the Deval activists that it's OK to disagree during the primary, but we needed to unite after the Primary.  Of course that's when he thought his boy Tom was going to win.

So what do you say today Stevo?  Ready to step up and unite behind Deval>

can others be far behind (0.00 / 0)
I wonder if Baddour and O'Flaherty do anything without asking Trav or even Sal.  Are these guys testing the water for others?  It is all idiotic, but Baddour got a lot of money from Romney/Heaty under their inept TOD policy.  He must see potential Patrick Administration as a loser for his Haverhill district.

Badour also said (0.00 / 0)
"It's like giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. It's ridiculous. We need to toughen up that part of our security side," he said. "We need to make sure people aren't falsifying information." In response to the upcoming
in response to the upcoming federal law standardizing drivers licenses. I wish he felt that way about identity theft.

What did you (0.00 / 0)
expect Baddour or O'Flaherty to do at the signing ceremony of an important tool in the fight against child abuse?  Rip Muffy? Politicize it and make the Lt. Governor a victim?  Please, stop the hand wringing and wailing.

By the way, do you think that maybe Baddour and O'Flaherty had something to do with the passage of the law?  Extending the statute of limitations was a good thing, right?  A modicum of restraint is in order.  Its not all black and white.

I didn't expect them to be stars in her next 30 sec. ad (0.00 / 0)
Herakles --

These guys have been in politics for a long time.  What they did yesterday was very calculated (and yes, pathetic). I agree that they needed to be professional:  Thank the Lt. Gov. and talk about the importance of the legislation.  But, for you to suggest that they HAD to fawn over her the way that they did is, well, disingenuous.

Be honest, many in the legislature would like nothing better than to keep an ineffectual Rep. Gov. in office.  If Patrick/Murray are elected the balance of power is shifted away from Sal/Trav and their coatholders.

That's what yesterday was all about.

reaching out (0.00 / 0)
For all the talk of inclusiveness it seems that believers in the church of Deval Patrick are as judgmental and inflexible as the young children of Jesus Camp

It isn't all black and white here.  Rep O'Flaherty supports many issues being put forth by Patrick; he was the chief sponsor of the Drivers License for Illegal Immigrant legislation long befor Deval even came on the scene.  He isn't marching lock step with the Devalistas and this upsets the zealots.  What is next?  A Deval Patrick loyalty oath?  It is okay to disagree.  That is what makes this country great.  No Sieg Heils here.

It's about winning.... (0.00 / 0)
Not about marching lock step -- I don't agree with everything Patrick has proposed.  This is about winning an election.  Every Democrat should want to end 16 years of Repub. rule.  A bill signing ceremony featuring the Republican's nominee for Governor is POLITICAL, not policy oriented.  I'll say again, they could have been polite, thankful and professional without breaking out the chapstick and planting a big kiss on Healey's Arse (I believe that's a term Zell O'Flaherty used in is email to Brian McGrory a while back...).

Anyway, interesting Youtube clip.

Peace be with you.

Unfortunately (0.00 / 0)
it seems to be all about whining.

[ Parent ]
Who are we kidding? (0.00 / 0)
Most of the legislation needed to change the way MA does business gets hung up in the upper echelons of the legislature. The Deval bandwagon is that message of change and it should be disturbing to them as they may actually have to end up listing to the people who live in this state. Not surprising they will play the politics of destruction over the politics of hope.
